C.I. Babcock, III
C.I. Babcock, III received his bachelors and masters degrees in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech. Upon graduation, C.I. returned to his hometown of Coral Gables, FL to work with Weyerhauser's homebuilding division. In 1979 he formed Cornerstone Communities, Inc. in Clearwater, FL and began work on several residential projects in the area. In the following 32 years, Cornerstone Communities Inc. has become a steadfast leader in residential, commercial, and industrial development in the Tampa Bay area - owing much to a culture of conservatism and patience in an otherwise volatile industry.
Robert E. “Bear” Bass
Bob "Bear" Bass, a native to the Tampa Bay area, grew up with construction and development in his blood. His father was a homebuilder both in Florida and Connecticut through the 50s and 60s. Bear began working in construction as a teenager and developed a natural aptitude for problem solving and cost-conscious building techniques. After working for several national homebuilders - including several years with Lennar Homes - Bear joined Babcock Investment Company. Soon thereafter he joined C.I. and the nascent Cornerstone Communities, Inc. - which has been his home for nearly 30 years.
James H. Kasper
James received his B.B.A. from Stetson University, as well as the Wendell Jarrad, Sr. Award for Excellence as a student-athlete. He joined Babcock Investment Company in 2003 as a Project Manager after working as a private consultant and in the homebuilding industry. James has since managed the acquisition, entitlement, development, and the sale of over two thousand residential units, and more than 300,000 square feet of office and commercial space.
Christopher H. Babcock
Chris joined Babcock Investment Company in 2003 after graduating magna cum laude from Furman University. As a principal, Chris will be leading Babcock Investment Company as a rare fourth generation family business. Since 2003, Chris has been integral in managing many aspects of the business: including land entitlement, residential horizontal development, retail vertical construction, and commercial leasing.
